08 / Manufacturing process
From requirement to production.
A staged workflow that keeps every job visible, from the first conversation to dispatch.
Conceptual workflowThis is a conceptual workflow. It illustrates a typical manufacturing sequence and should be replaced with TMD’s actual process once provided.
01 / Workflow
Seven stages, one connected line.
Scroll to follow a requirement through each stage.
- 01
Requirement
Understanding the part, its application, quantities and expectations.
- 02
Engineering
Reviewing drawings and specifications and clarifying critical features.
- 03
Planning
Defining the manufacturing route, sequence and checkpoints.
- 04
Production
Manufacturing to the agreed plan with in-process attention to quality.
- 05
Quality Inspection
Verifying output against the drawing and acceptance criteria.
- 06
Assembly / Finishing
Assembly and finishing operations where the requirement calls for them.
- 07
Dispatch
Packing and dispatch co-ordinated with the customer’s schedule.
02 / Stage by stage
What happens at each step.
- 01
Requirement
Every job begins with the requirement: what the part is, where it is used, how many are needed and what matters most to the customer.
- 02
Engineering
Drawings and specifications are reviewed, critical features are identified, and any open questions are raised before work is planned.
- 03
Planning
The manufacturing route is defined — the sequence of operations, the set-ups involved and the points at which the work will be checked.
- 04
Production
Parts are manufactured to the agreed plan, with attention to quality during the process rather than only at the end.
- 05
Quality Inspection
Finished work is verified against the drawing and the acceptance criteria agreed with the customer.
- 06
Assembly / Finishing
Where the requirement calls for it, parts are assembled and finishing operations are completed.
- 07
Dispatch
Goods are packed appropriately and dispatched in co-ordination with the customer’s schedule.
